The editor-in-chief
is responsible for overall production and distribution of the journal
in accordance with policies set by the International Mountain Society
(IMS). He or she is the head of an Editorial Board consisting of a managing
editor and 3-4 regional editors, and is assisted by an Editorial Advisory
Board. The editor-in-chief is also responsible for annual budgets and
accounts, and may assist the IMS in management of subsidised subscriptions,
as well as in other fund-raising activities.
