MRD features two peer-reviewed sections: MountainDevelopment, which contains “Transformation Knowledge”, and MountainResearch, which contains “Systems Knowledge”. In addition, the MountainNotes section occasionally offers key mountain-related insights and overviews of debates. Key research and development fields: Audience MRD is essential reading for two main groups: MountainDevelopment papers aim at a multi-disciplinary community of development-oriented researchers, policy-makers, decision-makers, project planners, and people in educational institutions. MountainResearch papers address a broad scientific community of researchers, students and graduate-level teachers interested in sustainable mountain development, mountain environments and societies, disciplinary mountain aspects of global relevance, and interdisciplinary interaction. Open Access Publication and indexing Frequency: Mountain Research and Development publishes four issues annually (February, May, August, and November).
